The National Association of Resource Teachers  has its 3rd European Voluntary Service project /Erasmus+ programme/ approved. The project called “Step by Step from school to the labour market”, 2017-3-BG01-KA105-046847 has been accomplished by volunteers who are doing volunteer service in Bulgaria within nine months. The participants of the project are 4 young people from France, Spain and Turkey. Our volunteers, who has lived in Sofia almost a year, worked with students at risk of dropping and unemployment, regardless of their gender, religion and ethnic background.   

The activities that are included into the project have the aim at one hand to give the volunteers the opportunity to gain valuable experience about their future careers, and on the other hand to assist to student, aged from 15 to 18 who are coming from groups at risks, to increase their financial competences, personal development and career orientation.

Within the project “Step by Step from school to the labour market” Marta Romeo Castillo (Spain), Manuel Cortes Rodriges (Spain), Presilia Verasami (France) and Bora Shensoy (Turkey) arrived in Sofia on 1st May and worked with young people from two Sofia schools – 140 Secondary School “Ivan Bogorov” and 106 Primary School “Grigoriy Tzamblack”. 

The focus of the project is on the activities about career education and consulting of young people. Thus, the project helps the prevention and fight with prejudices and behaviours which are leading to social exclusion as well as it is developing tolerance and understanding of diversity.

 

In line with the “Erasmus + “ programme priorities, the project has developed skills among young people for smoother and quality transition from school to labour market. It  contributed to the realization of the key priorities, connected to inclusion of marginalized young people, encouraging of intercultural  and interreligious dialogue, improvement of the feeling of initiative among young people.
