On January 29th-30th, in Prato, Italy, the international seminar for techniques on awareness and understanding of emotions was held as part of the project “ALTERNATIVE APPROACHES IN WORKING WITH YOUTH WITH CHALLENGING BEHAVIORS.” The seminar gathered 22 participants, including young people.
The National Association of Resource Teachers was represented by four specialists and two young people.
The event aimed to test the developed digital resources and videos. The seminar included an interactive program designed to provide participants with practical tools and methodologies to integrate into their professional activities.
The structured sessions facilitated group practices, discussions, and experiential learning, offering a practical approach to the integration of body and mind.
• Participants engaged in practical exercises focused on self-awareness as a tool for stress reduction and the connection between body and mind.
• A joint discussion was held on how these techniques can be effectively used in addressing the challenges faced by youth workers.
• The sessions emphasized the importance of understanding the interaction between bodily sensations, emotions, and memories to promote emotional awareness and resilience.
• The seminar also covered identifying and managing strategies for developing better emotional intelligence and self-regulation.
The seminar provided an opportunity for youth workers to develop new competencies in stress management and awareness, offering them the necessary tools to support the well-being of the young people they work with.
The success of the event highlights the growing need for such initiatives in the youth work sector, reinforcing the importance of a holistic approach to mental and emotional well-being.
