For another year, the National Association of Resource Teachers (NARU) is organizing its winter edition of the School for Inclusive Education. This year, it has been held at the Royal Spa Hotel in the town of Velingrad.

The school was opened by Kalina Hristova, President of NARU, and Dr. Kaloyan Damanov, Director of the Regional Center for Inclusive Education Support – Sofia City. A guest of the school is Boyana Alekso, Chief Expert in the Directorate “Inclusive Education” at the Ministry of Education and Science (MES).

During the opening, current issues were discussed, including the newly introduced functional assessment card and early childhood development.

The guest lecturers for this year’s edition will be Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anna Trocheva-Asenova from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, who will speak on the topic “Game as a Factor in Early Childhood Development for Children with Special Educational Needs.” Tomorrow, Snezhana Radeva, Director of Early Childhood Development Programs at UNICEF Bulgaria, will present the topic “The Systemic Approach to Early Childhood Intervention – Practical Aspects.”

The School for Inclusive Education is the most successful format of NARU and the National Institute for Educational Policy and Practice (NIPEP), bringing together leaders and specialists in the field of inclusive education from all over the country. It is intended for resource teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, directors of regional centers, directors of kindergartens and schools, and experts from MES and Regional Education Department (REI).
