On June 25, 2021, at 140th Secondary School “Ivan Bogorov” – Sofia, a practical workshop was held with 7th grade students as part of the STEAM4SEN project. The school is a long-standing partner of NARU and strives to introduce educational innovations into the learning process. Activity 30 is part of the project’s first intellectual output and is dedicated to the topic “The Golden Ratio.” The practical workshop is part of project result O2 – A2: Implementation of practical laboratories.
Students were previously engaged in discussing the topic from various perspectives. They had the opportunity to choose their own teams to work in and to select the research directions in which they would explore the principle of the golden ratio.
This activity helps students discover different examples of the use of the “golden ratio” in mathematics, nature, space, art, life, architecture, and design. It is an activity that combines a research-based approach and project-based learning.
During the practical activity, each team presented the results of their research. The research areas chosen by the students for discovering the principle of the golden ratio included geometry, space, nature, art, architecture, including in significant cultural achievements for humanity.
