The National Association of Resource Teachers (NARU) took an active part in a two-day international training focused on managing challenging behavior among young people.

The training was held in North Macedonia as part of the project “Alternative Approaches in Working with Youth with Challenging Behavior CCBY”, funded by the Erasmus+ program, in which NARU is the leading organization.

The event brought together representatives of youth organizations and experts from five European countries – Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Italy, Denmark, and Poland.

The main goal of the training was to encourage the exchange of good practices and to provide concrete tools and approaches for working with young people exhibiting challenging behavior.

On the first day, the Bulgarian team presented the project, its main objectives, and expected outcomes. Participants took part in an introductory session focused on effective facilitation and youth engagement.

Special attention was given to the topic of self-esteem and adolescent development through the exercise “Wheel of Personal Identity”, which encouraged personal reflection and discussion on the factors shaping individual identity.

The second day was dedicated to understanding and supporting young people in stressful situations. Experts introduced various strategies for dealing with challenging emotions and building emotional well-being, as well as approaches for managing anxiety, anger, and developing self-regulation.

The training provided an opportunity for international exchange of knowledge, approaches, and effective practices that can be adapted and applied in different systems.

All participants received Youthpass certificates for their participation and contribution to the project.
