The project “ALTERNATIVE APPROACHES IN WORKING WITH YOUTH WITH CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR (C-C-B-Y)” officially started on September 1, 2023, with a duration of 30 months.
The National Association of Resource Teachers (NARU), Bulgaria, is the coordinator of the project. The partner organizations come from five countries and have solid experience in working with youth with challenging behavior, as well as in youth work aimed at developing social competences and improving the physical and mental well-being of young people. The project partners are:
• CENTAR ZA MLADINSKI AKTIVIZAM CMA KRIK, North Macedonia
• COPENHAGEN YOUTH NETWORK, Denmark
• ASD CYB SPORT YOGA DANZA E BENESSERE, Italy
• REGIONALNE CENTRUM WOLONTARIATU, Poland
• MONIKOM-TREJD, North Macedonia
The project aims to support the social inclusion of young people with challenging behavior by improving their self-esteem, resilience, and stress management skills. At the same time, it aims to enhance the capacity of youth workers and educators working with these young people and to raise their awareness of the causes, manifestations, and possible interventions in such cases.
A key outcome of the activities will be the creation of a toolkit for storytelling, as well as the exploration and practice of relaxation techniques for both body and mind.
Main Activities:
• Direct involvement of the target group to identify the approaches they truly need;
• Involvement of youth workers to assess the effectiveness of the support being provided;
• Collection and exchange of best practices from organizations working with youth with challenging behavior;
• Creation of a toolkit for storytelling and techniques to improve physical and mental health;
• Development of a training methodology and curriculum (for youth workers), followed by piloting and validation.
