HOSTING ORGANIZATION: National Association of Resource Teachers – NARU

LOCATION: Sofia, Bulgaria

DURATION: 10 months

EXPECTED DATES: October 2024 — July 2025

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 3 youth

VOLUNTEER PROFILE:

•             Ages 18-30, ready to work with at-risk students, 2 females and 1 male.

•             Education and/or experience in teaching, pedagogy, psychology, special education, or social work.

•             Willing to live independently, open-minded, and flexible.

•             Committed to the values of the European Solidarity Corps.

THEMES:

•             At-risk youth

•             Labor market issues, including career guidance, social challenges, Roma and other minorities

•             Combating school dropout

•             Social entrepreneurship / students with special educational needs

WHAT WE OFFER:

•             Accommodation in a fully equipped apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a shared kitchen, and living room. All costs for rent, maintenance, etc., are covered by NARU.

•             Pocket money and food allowance – competitive monthly amount.

•             Free public transport card, reimbursement for travel expenses, and participation in our training events.

•             Bulgarian language lessons with an experienced teacher, complementing OLS.

•             Assistance with visa issuance and visa cost reimbursement; Mentorship.

•             Safety information packet.
