A representative from NARU participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “75 Years – Organized Education, Rehabilitation, and Employment of People with Disabilities in the Republic of North Macedonia.”
The conference was organized by the Union of Special Educators and Rehabilitation Specialists in North Macedonia. A special gratitude certificate was presented to us for the cooperation between NARU and the Union, as well as for hosting a study visit for specialists from North Macedonia earlier in the year.
The conference was officially welcomed by the President of North Macedonia, Mrs. Gordana Siljanovska.
Dr. Kaloyan Damyanov from RCPPPO – Sofia City presented the Bulgarian model of support with varying intensity for children with special educational needs.
The main goal of the conference was to create networks and strengthen communication between educators, researchers, medical staff, parents, and all those dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities; exchange of experience and knowledge, and making proposals for improving the diagnosis, rehabilitation, and education of people with disabilities.
Participants in the conference included representatives of the academic community from Bulgaria, Austria, Serbia, Croatia, and North Macedonia. Experts, educators (of various profiles), speech therapists, pediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, teachers, and representatives of institutions involved in education, rehabilitation, treatment, and care for people with disabilities, as well as representatives of central and local government and civil organizations were also present.
The main topics of the conference were related to early intervention and inclusive education at various stages of education, different methods for diagnosis, assessment, and intervention, and the interaction between various stakeholders.
