From November 12 to 14, 2021, the 13th Eastern and Central European Regional Conference on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ECER AAC 2021) will be held ONLINE.
Initiated and organized for the first time in 1997, the conference aims to promote AAC in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. It has established itself as an authoritative event presenting the latest achievements and good practices related to the use of AAC by children and adults with complex communication needs. The theme of this year’s conference is “AAC and Inclusive Education.”
This year, the conference is organized by the ASSIST – Assistive Technologies Foundation with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Science and UNICEF, and with the assistance of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC).
Speakers include Dr. Sofia Kalman (Hungary), Prof. Steven von Tetzchner (Norway), Prof. Juan Bornman (South Africa), Prof. Anna Sarkadi (Sweden), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kristine Stadskleiv (Norway), Dr. Judy Wine (Israel), and others.
The working language of the conference is English, with simultaneous translation provided from English to Bulgarian.
