On 17–18 July 2025, the second partnership meeting of the “Autism in Motion (AiM): Promoting Healthy Habits and Wellbeing of Children with Autism through Professional Training and Integration of New Technologies” project was held in the city of Łódź, Poland.
The event was hosted by Lodz University of Technology in collaboration with the Voxel Research Laboratory – a multidisciplinary center that brings together academic staff from various faculties to develop innovative VR/AR/MR solutions in the fields of psychology and special education.
What Does the AiM Project Aim to Achieve?
As part of the project, three key outputs will be developed to support children with autism, their families, and the professionals working with them:
- ✅ Validated Professional Training Programme for Teachers
Designed to enhance teachers’ competencies in supporting children with autism and their families. - ✅ AiM Educational Package
A resource using VR and interactive games to promote physical and mental wellbeing in children with autism. - ✅ Policy Recommendations
Targeted at improving inclusion and accessibility for learners with autism across educational settings.
Highlights from the Meeting
Representatives from six partner organizations across five European countries gathered to discuss the project’s progress and plan the upcoming activities.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the university’s high-tech labs, including the “Robotics for the Benefit of Humanity” Research Center, where innovative technologies are developed to assist people with disabilities.
The AiM project continues to move forward with the development of high-quality resources, aiming to make a real impact in educational and therapeutic practices for children with autism.
