The AiM project – “Helping Children with Autism Develop Their Potential: Promoting Healthy Habits and Well-being of Children with Autism through Professional Training and Integration of New Technologies” was launched with its first meeting under the Erasmus+ program.
As part of the project, the partners are expected to develop specialized educational games and other resources:
• A VALIDATED PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM for teachers to enhance their competencies in supporting children with autism and their families.
• An AiM EDUCATIONAL PACKAGE FOR SUPPORTING CHILDREN with autism and their families through VR and other GAMES aimed at their physical and mental well-being.
• RECOMMENDATIONS for improving inclusion and accessibility for students with autism.
The leading organization for the project is the University of Łódź, Poland, through the Voxel research laboratory, which brings together academic staff from various faculties to develop innovative solutions like VR/AR/MR in fields such as psychology and special education. The Regional Directorate of Education of Thessaloniki is the second-largest primary education directorate in Greece, and its role is to coordinate, complement, and support the implementation of educational policies of the Ministry.
The Portuguese Association for Developmental Disorders and Autism is a non-governmental organization that provides individualized services to individuals with developmental disorders, autistic disorders, and their families, facilitating their independence and inclusion. It has 20 years of experience in implementing social-educational support initiatives. Emfasis (Cyprus) is an educational center, ICT training, research, and software development approved by the Ministry of Education of Cyprus, with valuable experience in developing digital tools and providing validated professional courses for professional development, particularly in the field of inclusion and disabilities. NARU (Bulgaria) is a non-governmental organization that promotes continuous improvement of the quality of education with an emphasis on integration and inclusion of all children in Bulgaria, with over 1,100 members, including teachers, psychologists, speech therapists, and other educational specialists. HPO (Cyprus) is a consulting firm in the fields of sports, media, and business management. HPO has been active in recent years organizing various workshops and seminars focused on promoting healthy living and mental health for all, regardless of age, origin, or abilities. The project is funded by the European Union.
