Project Total Duration: 6 months
The project “Learn and grow together” 2018-1-BG01-ESC11-061126 under the programme “European Solidarity Corps” is going to start in the middle of April 2020.
The participants of the project are 4 people (at the age of 18 – 30). They are volunteers from Italy, Greece and Turkey. The project is going to be accomplished in Sofia within 6 months from the moment of arrival of each of the participants.
The target group of the project is students at risk of dropping out of school from marginalized social groups. The project activities aim not only to provide the volunteers with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in their future career opportunities, but also to assist students who are at the age of 15 – 18 from risk social groups in improving their financial competence, personal development and career orientation.
Within the project “Learn and grow together” Emilio di Nuzo (Italy), Anastasia Prenta (Greece), Yassin Krdashlar (Turkey) and Irem Ersak (Turkey) are going to work with students from 140th Secondary School “Ivan Bogorov” and children with special educational needs in the framework of the summer work of the Regional Centre for Support of the Inclusive Education Process in Sofia. The project is focused on activities about career education and consulting of young people. Thus, the project supports prevention and fight with prejudicesand behaviours which are leading to social exclusion and at the same time it develops tolerance and understanding of diversity. In view of the priorities of the programme “Erasmus +”, the project develops in young people skills for a smoother and better transition of the labour market. Thereby, it contributes to the achievement of key priorities related to inclusion of young people who are at risk and young people who are with special educational needs. Moreover, the project encourages intercultural and inter-religious dialogue and it improves young people’s sense of initiative.
In addition, the volunteers are going to participate actively in the summer activities of the Regional Centre for Support of the Inclusive Education Process in Sofia when working with children with special educational needs together with resource specialists – psychologists, resource teachers, speech therapists and others.
The volunteers are going to present the educational systems of their countries, their peculiarities and specifics, as well as the order of inclusive education there, on different forums. It will be done by comparative analysis between Bulgaria and their countries. The volunteers are going to visit various career forums and seminars as well as specialized events of NART, such as the summer school for inclusive education and pedagogical advice.
