For the first time within the framework of the National Awards for Inclusive Education, projects dedicated to supporting and promoting the social inclusion of children with special educational needs were also recognized.

Among the awarded initiatives was “Autism in Motion” – a project developed by NARU (National Association of Resource Teachers), aimed at encouraging healthy habits, physical activity, and the overall well-being of children with autism.

The award on behalf of NARU was received by Petya Dimitrova during the official ceremony.

Other awarded projects included:

  • SpicE (Special Education STEAM Academy) by Hristo Smirnenski Primary School – Rakovski;
  • Goalball for Inclusion by the Regional Center for Support of the Process of Inclusive Education (RCSPPIE) – Burgas.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to schools, kindergartens, educational centers, and support specialists whose daily work contributes to the development and successful inclusion of children.

The event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, regional support centers, school principals, teachers, specialists, and representatives of civil society organizations.

Among the official guests were:

  • Dr. Tanya Pancheva, Deputy Minister of Education and Science;
  • Christina de Bruin, UNICEF Representative in Bulgaria;
  • Dr. Kaloyan Damyanov, Regional Governor of Stara Zagora;
  • Dr. Eleonora Lilova, Head of the Regional Department of Education – Sofia City.
